Walthers - Proto (Re-Tooled Life Like) Locos. |  Introduced in 1989, the PROTO 2000 Series introduced a new generation of HO Scale plastic locos combining the finest levels of prototype detail and performance. The series now includes N and HO Scale models of many popular diesels and HO Scale freight cars in both kit and assembled versions.
As interest in steam power grew, the PROTO 2000 Heritage Steam Collection debuted in 1999. Based on a wide range of American locos, this line features exceptional detailing for maximum realism, and includes both HO and N Scale replicas.
The entire PROTO series of models, formerly offered by Life-Like, were acquired by Walthers in the summer of 2005. |
